Four planes. Three thousand victims. Two towers. One morning. September 11th 2001: the day that changed America forever.

Imagine waking up and getting ready for yet another day of work. You put on your best outfit, grab a cup of coffee and swing by the local bakery for a last minute breakfast. When you finally arrive at work, you settle into your desk and prepare for the day ahead. Then, barely an hour into your shift, the unthinkable happens: your office goes up in flames.

This was reality for the people who died on that fateful Tuesday morning. Some were in the towers, others in the Pentagon and the rest thirty thousand feet in the sky and digging through the smoldering rubble below. America watched in horror as the world was engulfed in flames. Our country crumbled to the ground. But from the ashes rose a new nation, one united in grief, despair and a longing for justice.

“In the Blink of an Eye: September 11th Stories” immortalizes that day in vivid detail. The short story “And Then He Smiled,” tell the heart wrenching tale of a mother’s grief over losing her child with a supernatural twist and the poem “One Dark September Morning,” champions hope even in the darkest of times. Filled with moments of joy and despair, of faith and disbelief, of life and death, Brittany Tenpenny’s “In the Blink of an Eye: September 11th Stories,” is a literary anthology destined to touch the heart and inspire the soul.

For the first month of the book’s release (Sept 1-Sept 30), all proceeds will be donated to the National September 11th Memorial and Museum in New York City.

Author of:  Horror Novels, Historical Fiction, Poetry, and short stories.

After graduating from college in 1973, William worked in factories, taught high school English, and ran a successful house painting business. His real love, though, was writing, and he began freelancing in 1978.

He quickly learned that while only 10% of his general interest stories and poems got accepted by magazines, 80% of his horror writing found its way into print. Also, there was a particularly difficult California editor who inspired him. He kept rejecting story after story, always adding the tease, “This was very close to what I’m looking for.” Soon, Robertson had 20 stories written, that rejected by the California editor, were later published worldwide. One of these tales, “Wide Spot in the Road,” was translated into the Romanian language.

William’s work has now appeared in over 500 magazines, e-zines, and anthologies in the U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, William Robertson -Bucktailswilliam-robertson-SeasonIreland, Wales, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia.

His other writing credits include eleven poetry collections, three audio books, twelve e-books, six volumes of short stories, a Viking novel, two French and Indian War novels, and nine historical fiction novels about the famous Civil War sharpshooters–the Bucktails.

 His horror collection includes:

LURKING IN PENNSYLVANIA, DARK HAUNTED DAY, TERROR TIME, and THE DEAD OF WINTER.  And the newest addition is SEASON OF DOOM.

 About the Author: Stanley Fritz

stanley fritzBorn to Haitian immigrant parents in East New York, Brooklyn, Stanley is the elder of two children. An avid reader since the age of six, Stanley has basically been writing stories since he could tie his shoes. He published his first book “Beautiful Problems,” a collection of short stories that blur the line between fiction and reality, in February 2012.As a child, Stanley’s neighborhood was filled with loud mothers yelling for their children, bodega music and the sweet smells of Caribbean food. He found the energy and cultural diversity of East New York inspiring and his short stories quickly became popular with his grade school teachers.
That creative passion and drive propelled Stanley to enroll at SUNY College at Old Westbury to pursue a degree in English literature. Stanley quickly built a positive and productive reputation on his college campus as a leader. He held a number of leadership positions including a job as resident assistant and he was an active member of Chi Sigma Theta Fraternity Inc.
Stanley graduated in 2010 and quickly began working to achieve his two lifelong goals; political activism and writing. He currenly works for NYPIRG, an organization that advocates for students and serves the public good, in addition to co-hosting, co-producing, and engineering Let Your Voice Be Heard!. Oh yeah, and he wrote a book too. There’s a reason why they call him “Stan the Man”…this guy is motivated, smart, and oh yeah, ladies…he has a voice like hot melted butter.
