Brianna Genteman“For the first nine years of my life my family lived in a log cabin and I learned how to ride a horse before I learned how to ride a bike. I once believed the show “Little House on the Prairie” to be relevant, but soon learned when I started going to school, that I was indeed the odd one out.  When our family did move away from the cabin, we moved to an even more rural town and to yet another farm.  I am the youngest of three sisters and the other half of a twin set. I have always been inspired by the farm where I grew up and all of our parent’s animals that lived there with us.  The personality that our pets and livestock had been so varied and entertaining, it was hard not to write about them.”

Brianna Genteman grew up on a farm in the country side of Missouri, the barn yard being the place where she got the inspiration for many of her characters. Genteman received her Bachelors in Fine Arts from Stephens College, with study abroad at the Paris America Academy and her masters from Vancouver Film School, In British Columbia, Canada. The art of storytelling has always been Genteman’s passion in life, be it through her own words or that of others, she always wanted to reach the heart of an audience. Animals have also been an important part of her life, which she carries with her today in her novel.

Brianna Genteman currently resides in Los Angeles, California and is working on her next novel.

Sun and Moon have started pouting, she is yelling, he is shouting,
both declare and both protest, “I’m the one who’s loved the best!”

Sun has made a bold attempt, “today, at last, I will not set.
I will shine all through the night, then you’ll see that I am right.
But if I am to be mistaken, with the stars I’ll find my haven.
The skies will have just one sole light, a lonely moon, a darkened bright.”

Roee Anuar’s debut book tells the tale of the sun and the moon, both trying to determine who is most preferred by the people of the earth, all with a language that respects children.

Roee AnuarThis book was originally a gift for my 2 kids. I tried to use a rich language and encourage them to ask questions while listening to the story. To my surprise, it went better than I expected. My kids asked for the story again and again. At bedtime while reading the book, they started to remember more parts of it. Now they know the full story by heart. I want to share the joy of watching kids learn and add new words to their vocabulary. I hope you and your kids will enjoy it too.

Johnathon-SmithJohnathon wrote this book to show how children can take the lessons they learn from sports and apply them to the classroom. It is designed to encourage younger children to stay in school and learn all they can while still participating in team sports for fun. The book discusses some of the issues that Mr. Smith himself faced as a young athlete.

As a former University of Connecticut football player, Johnathon J. Smith was hungry to be a great student athlete. He says, “You see, I was in search of a quick way to cash in, but somewhere along the way I realized that an education was far more valuable than what any sport or paycheck could offer.” Smith transferred to the University of Delaware where a greater emphasis was placed on academics. Since graduating, he has started a personal fitness company that provides personal training services from the comfort of his own dedicated studio, select outdoor locations throughout South Florida or his clients’ own fitness facilities. He is also actively involved in his community by volunteering his time to many events and nonprofit organizations that involve kids.

Smith pursued an NFL career after rising through the ranks to play Division I football. Through his experiences he came to the realization that he needed to focus on his degree because football wasn’t going to support him for the rest of his life.

Just In 2516, the Universe is no longer absent of life as many believe in 2013. Space has become a community, a community of which Earth is a relatively new member. In 2516 there are species from light years away that have lived much longer than we have. There are other races that are similar in age, and some even younger. The human race, compared to other races within in this galactic community, is still very young.

Some of these races fight with each other. Some of the more powerful races take advantage of the weaker races. Unfortunately, humans are one of these races. Humans treat other young races unfairly as much as some do the same to humans. For this reason, a group of the oldest and wisest races has formed to do something about this problem.

This group has called upon Nevaeh, a young intergalactic peace leader, to head a very special mission. They have chosen Nevaeh to travel back in time to Earth and teach its children the ways of peace and understanding before what they called ‘’bullying,’’ spread from their planet to others. Accompanying Nevaeh on her mission is her galactic friend “Dunamis” who has extraordinary genius powers.

The Penguin Who Wanted to Fly

By Christopher Logan

There is still a place where magicks exist. Where a wish can come true simply by believing. The penguins, seemingly just black and white, are so much more. They are the last magical creatures of the Earth. Through rituals and tradition, the remaining magicks are made into wishes which each penguin gives up to the sky, wishing their wish through the clouds and up towards the heavens where they are told they hide and find their destiny behind the moon. But this is not the story of tradition, nor of those wishes that have all but been wished away. This is the story of one penguin who will not abandon her wish to chance.

REVIEW

This is the deepest, most thought-provoking children’s book I’ve ever read! … I give this book a High Five for it’s thought-provoking plot, it’s beautiful, richly-written text, and the adorable names of the characters – three bunnies that are only out at night – the Dusk Bunnies; the Council Members – Rufus Alfar and Balthum Lazlo. Just like real penguins – very dignified indeed! This is not your ordinary children’s book, but it’s sure to get the older kids involved and interested in the extraordinary plot. They will also be charmed and fascinated by the lives of these very magical penguins.”

A Message from Barbara:

I envision readings of Feeling Loved in classrooms, bookstores, troop meetings, places of worship, libraries, and in family rooms. We know children need to feel they are loved and it can make a profound difference. Imagine what a great future we can create if more children truly feel loved.

Faced with a life-threatening illness when my daughter Lily was born in 1998, I experienced the tremendous power of love. Without the love from my family and friends, I could not have survived, become a mom, and been able to share this message. My experience is that, in all situations, love can, and does, make a huge difference in a person’s life.

Years ago I was visiting my good friend, Suzy Joy, in Colorado. After a long day of nature walking, feeding chipmunks and talking to baby mountain lions, I put my 6-year-old daughter, Lily, to bed. I tucked her in and we began our nightly ritual. In a sleepy, grateful voice Lily said, “Mommy, when you do that I feel so loved.”
In that moment, Feeling Loved was born……..CLICK HERE to READ MORE
